Is it a bear? A monkey? A baby sasquatch? No, seriously, what is it?A group of hikers out for a stroll in the Maine woods found a rather strange and large creature perched ridiculously high in a tree. Fortunately, these guys weren't exactly roughing it, so they had a video camera on hand to record the creepy looking animal, which reasonable minds are guessing might just be a super-ginormous North American porcupine. But it would have to be seriously huge. And also a little bit monkey-faced.
While we'll admit this fella is a far cry from the thing in "Harry and the Hendersons," we're also not ashamed to admit we have no idea what it is. Check out the video below and let us hear your best guess, because we're totally stumped.

Porcupine. You can see his quills. And they sleep in trees, just like that. I saw one once, climbing down in the morning, and I swore it was a monkey till I looked closer.

Maybe so. The head looks really long for a porcupine, though.

this "story" is about as intelligent as if a bunch of country hillbillies stood around a mailbox asking "duh, what is it?". This is a porcupine folks...please, put down your video games and take a walk in the woods sometime. Not only does it obviously look like, well, a porcupine, but it is also sitting in a hemlock tree...which are it's favorite tree, and what it eats the most.

I have to agree. Porcupine for sure. Look pretty damn big but it sure as hell isn't a sasquatch.

Thats definitely a primate. Not like quite like the ones that drug me to their cave in the cascades, but sightings have been on the rise in places like Oklahoma and Texas as we continue to develop into their territories. Its not surprising that the North American apes have made their way to the east coast.

We are all just asking the wrong question, it is a primate, but the question is if the video is really from Maine.

Not sure its real, the camera is quite steady and it doesn't move a muscle, might have been a practical joke, or an monkey thats escaped from somewhere and died in the cold..

that's definately a porcupine, ive lived here in maine for 20yrs & they are plentiful up here, for those of you who think otherwise, you've never been out of the city, or have wishfull thinking, you can see the quills on it, & porcupines sit still like that, its not even big, look at it compared to the tree, its up high also!!!

i have to say that they were out checking there plants & indulged a little to much for the comments they were makeing about the porcupine, they had to be stoned to think that was a sasquach, they could'nt even make it look like one with the camera, theres some good green in them there woods!!!!
