People always say that marriage is about sacrifice, but being forced to give away your 6-foot-tall Orc? That's asking a little much, don't you think? This is the moral quandary Robert Cushnie found himself stuck in when his wife, Dee, told him she would move from their home in Aberdeen, Scotland, back to her native Canada if he didn't get rid of his gigantic Orc statue. The lifelike model, which is based on the savage characters in "World of Warcraft," towered nearly a foot over her and led her to deem it "quite creepy."
On the one hand, the Scotsman had been with his Orc for six years, five more than he'd been married to Dee. Also, his gigantic Orc was freaking sweet-looking. On the other hand, he loved his wife, who presumably provides him with more (ahem) companionship than a 6-foot figure made of metal and plastic ever could (hopefully). What's a guy to do?
Cushnie ended up doing what any man with a shred of decency and a reasonable grasp on reality would do -- he found a home for the Orc, with people who love him, kids who will play with him, and a farmer with lots of open land for him to run around on. He was a good Orc.

Wow, If she's willing to dump you over that, help talk her the wrong way off a ledge. Dumb ass. Get some self-respect.

He had the thing 5 years before they were married. She should have had him get rid of it before the wedding. She should be stuck with it now, dump her.

Agreed. She knew going in. It's much easier to find a wife than it would be to find a new Orc. (Or some self respect.)

Hopefully Robert then proceeded to demand that his wife get rid of the 200+ fricking pairs of shoes his wife has, or some of the hundreds of clothes she has in the closet; or he'll leave her.

This is stupid. This is like the married women who are so ridiculous with the football concerning their husbands. Let the man enjoy what he wants. In my household ilt has always been the opposite, when I got married he either had to get into football during the NFL season or find something to do without complaining. Well this is how it should be when a man or a woman really enjoys or likes something. Just because you are married, it should not change the things you or your partner enjoy, try enjoying each others interest together. It does work. I am proof and it hasn't only been NFL football, it has been things on both sides. This woman sounds like a self-centered witch only with a b and I am a female! Woman are caddy and that is why I have more male friends, and I mean friends than female. Men make much better friends and I stress FRIENDS!!! Nothing more, nothing less!

This is silly. On one hand you've got a man who's apparently showing more interest in a video game character.....big suprise. And on the other hand, there's a woman who is obvioulsly feeling neglected by her husband......another big suprise. I agree with some of the posts above mine, but then again, we don't exactly know the severity of the situation. Either way, I guess he made the right choice....hahahaha I guess only time will tell. My question is, even though he donated it to some kids, is he still allowed to visit it???? hahahaha

She was jealous of the orc because he was taller than her, so she deemed it fit to tell her husband "it's me or the statue"? If you ask me, I would have preferred the statue. At least it stays quiet and doesn't make fun of me every day like a woman would do (or keep a thousand pairs of shoes).

son go to the store and buy some self esteem. if a statue is more important then your wife you need to catch a sale on personality as well. notice i said wife if its a gf she has no right to demand a man get rid of his creepy weird statue. and the guy that owned it? why didnt he find a room elswhere in home to store it??

this is absurd! choose a game piece over your spouse??? plenty of people have personal space called hobbies, gaming, sports, cooking, reading, socializing, etc. if you take away a thing like a game and or a game piece you are taking away a piece of a person. everyone is entitled to their own time outside of their relationship (whether it be marriage, long term or short term relationships, friends). you take that away and you have person with no skills,

I agree with your take on the situation. Some wifes need to get out of themselves and appreciate the differences of what their other enjoys.. there is nothing better on the other side of the
fence. Weed and brush are growing on the other side of mine!
