It turns out the ghost of William S. Burroughs hasn't been knocking off stores in the Village. Sadly, it's just your regular run-of-the-mill criminal who has a hilariously striking similarity to the dead poet.

The robber's tendencies toward criminal activities in Greenwich Village are also reminiscent of Burroughs' past, but that's pretty much the end of the comparison.

The suspect is Timothy Honey of the Bronx, has been holding up stores ranging from fro-yo places to sex shops (we didn't know there was anything else in the Village) at gunpoint.

Victims couldn't help but comment on his "professionalism," which left stores robbed of their money often in less than 20 seconds. He even managed to rob a store without the three other customers inside realizing what had just happened.

Store owners are confident that this was an isolated incident and aren't worried about the safety of their neighborhood. After all, you can't order a $6.45 smoothie before robbing a place when you're in the ghetto.
