Required reading from the week in books.

"The Unnamed" is the follow-up to Joshua Ferris's sharp "Office"-style satire "Then We Came to the End." His latest novel tracks a successful lawyer stricken with a bizarre illness, which causes him to wander the city he lives in aimlessly. We call that condition "hung over on a Sunday."

Also in stores this week:
-- "The Walking Dead: Fear the Hunter" is the 11th volume in writer Robert Kirkman's popular zombie-apocalypse comic. With the AMC TV series recently announced, get ready to see some hard-drinking, wife-slapping zombies pretty soon.
-- "Just Kids" is musician Patti Smith's chronicle of her friendship with controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Expect plenty of Allen Ginsberg cameos. That guy knew everyone.
-- "Bloodroot" is a Southern gothic family saga revolving around a "magical" child named Myra Lamb. Look for Myra to be played in the movie version by either Dakota Fanning or that girl from "The Lovely Bones."
