A 61-year-old woman may have to pay a $135 traffic fine after getting caught using a mannequin as her plus-one in the high-occupancy lane of the Long Island Expressway.



A sheriff's deputy became suspicious when he saw the "passenger" wearing sunglasses and using the car's visor on a gross, overcast day. As he suspected, he pulled the car over and found a mannequin's top half wearing a wig, shirt, scarf and sunglasses.

The driver acted confused about why the cop would pull her over. Then he asked for her ID -- and her passenger's.

What a dummy. (Get it?) Though we should note this is the second time in two-and-a-half-years this officer has seen this happen. Really.
