Now that Universal officially green-lit "Fast Five," the fifth installment(?) of "The Fast and the Furious," we asked you guys for your picks for the best car-centric flicks.

TBK and kitt both nominated "Death Proof," Quentin Tarantino's contribution to the double feature "Grindhouse." kitt is a fan because, "The stunts are out of control." (So is Tarantino's foot fixation. Seriously, the camera lingers on Rosario Dawson's toes for like 10 minutes.)

Mag offers up a classic: "'French Connection.' Could never be remade and shot in NYC by today's standards."

Bill threw in a vote for a clear Tarantino influence: "'Vanishing Point.' '70 Dodge Challenger R/T outrunning cops and jumping a river."

Mark stood up for all Burt Reynolds fans, stating definitively, "'Smokey and the Bandit.' Duh."

Finally, Joe offers a classic racing movie we plum forgot about: "The Gumball Rally." You mean the 1970s action comedy where Gary Busey drives a Chevy Camaro? There's no way "Fast Five" can top that cinematic tour de force.
