This stylish lamp is perfect for outdoorsmen, aspiring serial killers or anyone who can't remember where they left their axe.

This lamp uses a powerful LED and three AA batteries. It's obviously versatile, since you can pretty much hang it on anything you can sink it into -- even, as designer Cornelius Comanns says, "your favorite piece of furniture." ("Honey, why did you chop the credenza in half?")

The piece was a winner in designboom's Intelligent Hand contest. We also dug the pitcher with the thermometer in its handle, which was inspired by 17th-century technology (alcohol and air pressure).
