The best ways to get a woman you've recently met in a bar to give you her undivided attention for a few minutes are either to fake an epileptic seizure or to buy her a drink.Needless to say, the drink-buying option is quite popular. But how popular?
We want to know how quickly you go for your wallet when you spot a lady you fancy in a drinking establishment. Read on, for the pros and cons of renting a little bit of a woman's time by buying her a social lubricant.
Make the Offer
It's a good value
The average price of a drink one buys for a girl in a bar is around $6. While this purchase certainly won't guarantee the relationship of between four hours and a lifetime that you desire, it does offer much better value than other things men buy to improve their chances with the ladies: fancy cars, noxious colognes, etc.
It spreads happiness
When you offer to buy a woman a drink (in a non-creepy fashion), it makes her happy. Even if she turns you down because she has a significant other -- and/or would rather you just go away so she can continue drinking chardonnay and gossiping with her friend -- you have still made another person's day a little bit brighter.
It keeps them coming back
If we don't give women extra incentive to come to bars -- in the form of free drinks and attention -- we're going to have start meeting girls at embroidery classes.
Keep Your Money in Your Wallet
Think of all the liquor it wastes
Drinks bought for girls are very often not finished. Wasting perfectly good alcohol should be a crime in a land where so many bums are forced to imbibe mouthwash to make it through their wretched days.
Enough with all this buying stuff for women
Did you know that in ancient times (and still in some other cultures), a woman's father would pay a man a good chunk of money to marry his daughter? OK, so we are obviously not going back to that, but the least the ladies could do when they come across an eligible suitor is to buy him a drink every once in a while.
Separate yourself from the crowd
Anybody hopped up on liquid courage can ask to buy a pretty lady a cocktail. If you have what it takes to hold a long conversation with a girl you just met at a bar without extending the offer of free alcohol, she has to be intrigued by you, at the very least.

I've worked in bars for 6 years, nothing is more entertaining to me than watching a man whose only game is ordering alcohol. It is an ego boost for the female, but who cares? If she's solo, she's looking to catch a buzz and go home, and if she's with her friends, unless you look and sound like Colin Farrell you'll ultimately strike out also. It's a one in a million chance that a hottie you engage in will find you charming (remember the three rounds of liquid courage it took to get you speaking to her in the first place? That works against you also.)Plus, hotties get advanced all the time. You have to seperate yourself from the pack: you aren't the first to approach this woman, so using the same tools as the rest of the pack will yield the same results. My advice? If you want to buy her a round, do it, and tell the bartender you want a soda water with a lime, and explain to said hottie you are the DD. Say it's nice to meet her and WALK AWAY! If you see her in the bar at some other time in the future, reintroduce yourself as the responsible DD from before, but get your booze on this time. She may even buy your rounds, Mr. Responsibility.

I love trying to get women to buy me a drink, and if you haven't try it I strongly suggest it. I go up to a group and simply say "which of you girls are buying my next round?" when they say that I'm supposed to buy drinks for them, i just confidently reply that they are just "too stuck up to hang out with", smile and walk away. It doesn't always work, but some girls are against being called stuck up to the point they will follow you with a beer in hand. The girls who do this are more fun to chill with anyway.

I buy drinks for guys all the time. It's the polite and unexpected thing to do. But if someone walked up to me and asked like that, I'd tell them to f* off. I've never walked up to a group of guys and demanded a drink.

Back in my running days I would buy some good looking lady a drink, I was pretty lucky most times, but the best one was the last lady I bought a drink for. That was twenty eight years ago and we are still together. That was the best money I ever spent.

Do any of you care to hear a woman's prospective?
I like to receive a glass of champagne from a "secret admirer". Make me wonder for a while who sent it, but please don't get hammered while you are waiting for me to figure it out. If I spot you and think you're my admirer, I'll let you know I'm interest. If I ignore you, you've saved face and time for both of us. But, one the other hand, if we just happen to meet and conversation is going well, it's simply gentlemanly to offer to buy me a drink. However,if I start sucking the cocktails down and your uncomfortable with your bar tab, end the night and move on to a classier lady.

Send her a drink and then leave . Come back in an hour. It works. Curiosity always kills the cat.

I never buy a girl a drink unless I walked in with her or I've been talking to her long enough to know she's interested. Too many times I've witnessed my friends break their bank accounts on some young ladies who know what they're doing. Once I was even approached by a way-out-of-my-league girl who's line after introduction was, "So why don't you buy me a drink?" I replied, "Because you probably make your own money." Friends told me it was the wrong move, but my night didn't end early because of some girl who wasn't going to give me her real phone number anyways.

So sad, guys buying drinks for girls that wouldn't give them the time of day.
Some guys are slicker, some quicker, and some thicker but eventually most guys learn women want to sleep with guys for their own selfish reasons, not because they bought them a drink.
Gotta love all the selfish bitches that say buying women drinks is the "gentlemanly thing to do." Funny you don't hear the same girls saying giving blow jobs is the womanly thing to do...

I'm one of those guys that is too shy to approach a hot woman, maybe that means I don't deserve one, I don't know but I usually end up buying the hottie a drink and just end up poorer by the end of the night. So, should do just stick to the library and/or supermarket, or dare to dream???
