Since I rarely ever watch Glenn Beck's show, let alone write about it, imagine my surprise when I learned I had been honored with a place on the Fox host's "The Wire"–meets–Bart Simpson chalkboard. While CNNBC's reporting gets some of the details wrong (everyone knows I favor Bing!ing to Googling), it was still nice to be recognized.
OK, so none of this is true.)
I got the link for this video in an email from Robert Greenwald's Brave New Films, who collaborated with the Service Employees International Union and MoveOn to create the customizable video.
After the jump, check out my video evisceration at the hands of Beck's chalkboard and find out how to make your own.
"Satire has a long and important tradition and we found it appropriate as a tool to fight back against Glenn Beck's attacks and smear," Greenwald says.
This isn't the first personalized viral video ever, but it is well executed. Expect to get at least one in your email from one of your friends or office mates. You can make one of yourself by clicking here.
If Beck is smart, he'll sign up to have himself put on his chalkboard, and run it on his next show. Now that would be funny. Since it was my idea, though, I should at least get a few packets of Survival Seeds for my troubles, no?
Hey, it could be worse. At least they haven't developed a way to create a personalized John Edwards sex tape.
