Police have released the 911 call of a heroic 7-year-old boy who phoned emergency services when armed robbers broke into his home. When the raiders entered and threatened his parents with a gun, the lad, identified only as Carlos, grabbed his 6-year-old sister and locked the two of them in the bathroom.
From there he called 911 and told the emergency services what was happening. He can be heard telling the dispatcher, "There's some guys ... They're going to kill my mom and dad. Can you come, please?"
He proceeded to tell them how the three men rang the doorbell before forcing their way in and pointing the guns at his parents, who were forced to the floor. The terrified youngster then adds, "Bring cops. A lot of them ... And bring soldiers, too."
About 90 seconds into the call there are chilling screams as one of the men breaks into the bathroom and the call handler can be heard telling colleagues what has happened.
But there's a happy ending. After being told by the boy that he had called 911 the three men fled without taking anything. Detectives -- who were on the scene within three minutes -- have praised the boy for his actions and say he may well have saved the lives of his family.
Keep reading to listen to the harrowing, but truly heroic call.
