Every study on the relationship between porn and sex crimes concludes that when the availability of pornography increases, the rate of sex crimes either stays static or decreases. For example, in the United States, there has been a consistent decline in forcible rape over the last two decades. At the same time, porn has flooded the marketplace. Research from Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Japan, China, Poland, Finland and the Czech Republic shows a similar correlation.
It is true that just about all sex offenders in societies with liberal pornography laws have previously viewed porn. But so has just about all of the non-criminal males in those societies.
In fact, when comparing rapists to non-rapists in U.S. prisons, the big difference in terms of pornography viewership is that the rapists are more likely than the rest of the general prison population to have been punished for looking at porn as a youngster.
So, yes, your favorite porn starlet really is a hero.

Just as an FYI, My very best friend and I have known each other since we were 7 years old, and it has been about 20 years now. I know that it may seem very unusual (and even unbelievable) for many of you, but ever since I first knew her at 7 years old, she always wanted to grow-up to become a stripper. She found the women to be beautiful, and the life-style of being the center of attention gripping. It was all she ever wanted to do.
The end result? She has been stripping for about 9 years professionally now, and she loves every minute of it!
Just because you may not agree with or understand some points of view doesn't mean they don't exist, and it definitely does not mean they are harmful.

My husband was as a child molested by his brother since the age of 6 (that he can remember). His brother didn't do these things to him till some old man he worked for showed him some porn, naturally he went home and tested it on his brother.
As a result my husband (before we were married) was addicted to porn to an insane degree, he spent so much time on the internet he was worse than an WoW crazed nerd. He was so bad when I met him...he tried church, he tried everything..
After a long time of fights, crying, him being abusive, me being arrested and our new baby being so ignored it was unbelievable. We finally got over it. Me and my husband have a wonderful marriage now, there is no porn in our lives anymore, our children are happy and I have no more bruises.
Our love life is EPIC, we have more sex more often, a lot more meaningful as well..now we are more attracted to each other because we've taken that crap out.
We thank God everyday that WE don't have porn addictions anymore, our live is so much more full and beautiful than ever before! Good luck all of you that think porn is good, I hope one day you'll realize how ignorant you were..please don't ruin others lives by telling them it's ok, you never know if it will effect them in a way it doesn't effect you. Be careful, you don't want that shit on your consience.

thankyou for flinging religion into my face.
show me something. Anything. and i can tell you how being addicted to it could ruin a life. porn is no different.
everything on this Earth has the potential to cause damage if used in the wrong way. (i spend just a bit to much time how to)
and, with no sarcasm or otherwise Dickishness, congratulations on what your marriage has become.

Although I do not like porn (I'm female and straight and don't really like how it almost always focuses on the females - I'd rather look at the men!), I think porn stars deserve our highest respect. The "sacrifices" they make for being a public "spectacle" turn into less women being raped. I think they should be honored. They put their bodies out there so there are less people (I wonder if there is an effect on female-on-male and male-on-male rape? That would be interesting to find out!) being hurt. Kudos to the porn stars!
