A man who led police on a high-speed chase before crashing the car he was driving managed to slip away from guards while receiving treatment for his injuries.

Colin Bradley Little, 22, has been charged with more than 20 offenses, including aggravated armed robbery, after police said he hijacked cars during the pursuit around Perth, Western Australia. Which he did, there's footage.

He was then admitted to a hospital under guard for injuries, but as he was being taken out of the hospital in a wheelchair, he jumped up and ran away.

He was later apprehended after more than seven hours on the lam.

Police said Little stole a car after threatening the occupants with a hammer. During the pursuit the suspect forced the driver out of another car and tried to do the same with three others. The chase ended after Little rammed a police cruiser and rolled the stolen vehicle.
