Whether or not "Clash of the Titans" is any good is sort of beside the point: "Release the Kraken!" is the greatest out-of-context movie line since "I have had it with these motherf**king snakes on this motherf**king plane!" The release of the actual Kraken couldn't possibly be as exciting as what the Internet has come up with. If you need us, we'll be watching the Harry Hamlin original whilst heavily inebriated. Also in theaters:
-- "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?" follows the classic "Teen Wolf Too" tradition of using "Too" to indicate that the movie is not quite a sequel. You see, Jason Bateman was a teen wolf as well, while Tyler Perry's latest group of characters are also wondering why they ever said "I do." More sequels should follow this model. Perhaps Jennifer Garner and Luke Wilson could star in "The Bounty Hunter Too"?
-- Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies star in "City Island," the sort of old-school meat-and-potatoes "New Yawk" family drama that was all the rage during the '80s and '90s.
-- Filmmaker Michel Gondry ("Be Kind Rewind") turns the camera on his own family for the whimsical documentary "The Thorn in the Heart." Weirdly enough, Gondry's day-to-day life is also filled with weird animations and sad indie rock.
