Required reading from the week in books and comics.

Find out how the prim Elizabeth Bennett became a kick-ass karate-chopping zombie hunter in "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls," the official prequel to the hit literary-horror mash-up "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." Hope you aren't sick of these geek-friendly works, cause there are tons more on the way. (We're shamelessly looking forward to "Android Karenina.")

Also in stores:
-- "True Blood" fans will want to pick up "Dead and Gone: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel," the paperback edition of the latest book in the series that inspired the hit HBO show. It's just like the TV series, only without the ridiculous accents and rampant boobage.
-- "The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama," from The New Yorker editor David Remnick, offers the most comprehensive look at our Commander in Chief to date. (See, it's not all zombies and vampires here at Asylum. Although we would totally read a book where Obama battles zombies and vampires.)
-- Vertigo Comics continues its excellent series of crime graphic novels with "Bronx Kill," from writer Peter Milligan and artist James Romberger. As astute readers know, some of the best crime stories these days take place on the comic book page.
