Today, our friends at FilmDrunk report on the tale of Malcolm Brenner, a 58-year-old writer who, in 1971, had a nine-month "emotional and sexual" relationship with a female dolphin named Ruby. Brenner met Ruby while taking pictures of her at a Florida amusement park. He claims Ruby came onto to him by "nuzzling" and reports the sex was "phenomenal." Now, 39 years later, he has completed a novel about the affair, titled "Wet Goddess: Recollections of a Dolphin Lover."
Seeing as movies about against-all-odds love affairs and movies about dolphins have traditionally been quite popular, "Wet Goddess" is a slam dunk for a big-screen adaptation starring Jake Gyllenhaal, right?
Or maybe not. Let's test the idea right here:
| Yup -- I always wanted to know how that works | |

| Maybe -- if it ends up on IFC, I won't immediately flee | |
| No way -- that's just gross |

I have been firmly advocating Dolphin/Human relationships on my blog for the past couples of months. It's a shock to find out that my dreams are realistic to someone else. My musings were all theory. Apparently I was just fantasizing about a revolution that has already begun. God bless the 21st century.
