Being a sports fan is all about opinions, comparisons and constant historically minded debate. As such, it's a rare thing to be able to confidently appreciate that you are watching one of the best ever in real time. When they finally tally the most stylish sports teams ever, though, we're pretty certain that the current incarnation of FC Barcelona will be at the top.

Of course, Barca has always been one of the coolest sporting franchises around -- the embodiment of rebellious Catalan spirit and outsider style. They stand in contrast to the establishment credentials of archrivals Real Madrid. This year's squad may be the most styling version of the club yet.

For a start, there's the utterly incomparable Lionel Messi, dancing and improvising his way to a scarcely believable 39 goals in 43 games this season; enigmatic Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic; the always-suave French veteran Thierry Henry. But the coolest dude at the Nou Camp -- the one marshaling all this potentially wayward genius into a cohesive whole -- is their dapper 39-year-old coach, Josep "Pep" Guardiola.

While his rivals scream and pant in nylon leisurewear or sweat-stained traveling-salesman suits, Guardiola stands serene and super-slick in his immaculate menswear. Put simply, he's the best-dressed coach in sports. (Sorry, Stan Van Gundy.)

Saturday night's edition of El Classico -- the semiannual grudge match between Barca and Real -- promises to be even more mouth-watering than usual. Barcelona's elegant artisans taking on Madrid's flashy global superstars with the title race in La Liga hanging in the balance. We can't predict the result, but we can tell you who in the Bernabeu Stadium will look the best: Step forward, Pep Guardiola.
