NYC taxiIn the latest installment of Metered Recommendations, we hear from camera-shy Mohammed, who first tried to dissuade us from seeking advice from cab drivers because "the restaurants they go to aren't what the average Irish-American girl wants."

So if you're an Irish-American girl, head on over to TGIFriday's. (We hear their potato skins are super-authentic.) But if you want to know Mohammed's two favorite NYC joints for African and Pakistani grub, keep reading.

Name: Mohammed
Hack experience: seven years
Recommendations: Haandi's in Murray Hill; Africa Kiné in Harlem

"There are two places I like going with my wife: Haandi's on Lexington and 28th Street., which is an Indian and Pakistani restaurant, but more Pakistani. They make the fish in a certain way, and I like that. Also the kabob chicken with okra sauce. There is also an African place I go to on Frederick Douglas Boulevard, between 115th and 116th Streets, called African Kiné. They serve a dish called dibi. It's like BBQ lamb or beef, and it's traditionally served in Africa."
