It seems to us like the purpose of a secret passageway is that nobody knows where it is, but we're not the experts, so let's all just assume the NYPD knew what they were doing when they showed one to a bunch of reporters. As far as secret passageways go, this one is pretty awesome. It's a filthy stairway leading up from a subway tunnel into a windowless room. The windowless room leads onto a stoop attached to the false front of a brownstone (possibly the one pictured, but probably not). That's right -- somewhere in Brooklyn there's a brownstone that isn't a brownstone; it's a high-security front for a secret passageway into the subway.
The reporters who were granted access to the passageway were sworn to secrecy and not allowed to take photos, so if you were planning to amass a bunch of information and use it to write a really, really bad Nicolas Cage movie, our sincerest condolences, and also what were you thinking?
