Musician Peter Steele has reportedly died of heart failure at 48 years old. Known as the deep-voiced, towering frontman of the gothic metal band Type O Negative, Steele had a reputation for substance abuse, depression and dark jokes about suicide. It's funny. When people hear the words "depressed" and "dark", they automatically assume things like this are done for attention, but I'm willing to bet that you don't know a thing about the person you're talking about.

I know more about Peter Steele than you do, Ryan, if that is your real name. Who is the Ryan with the "Resident Genius" title? Yes ... me. I have a doctorate in goth metal psychology from Sweden's University of Gothenburg.

Listen you fucking spineless nasal-voiced hipster-yuppie douche.. grow up and show some fucking respect. Pete Steele had more talent in his little finger than all of your Williamsburg trust-fund 'bands' combined. Get a fucking clue.

Well, Brooklyn Guy, I will agree with you that I am "spineless," "nasal-voiced," and a "douche" - although I do not approve of such a crude term. However, I am not a "hipster" or "yuppie," since I refuse to even sniff Brooklyn or snort cocaine off a black-lacquered teak desk on Wall Street. I only set foot in the academia safe haven of the Upper West Side. Finally, when you mention "your Williamsburg trust-fund 'bands,'" you must be referring to my affinity for colonial-era choral music from Williamsburg, Virginia?

Why no respect? Guess the band had a good reason for telling people to "play nice"commenting on Peter's death. Well I did have the honor knowing Peter Steele he was so talented and smart. I will miss him as so many of his friends and fans. He had a history of heart failure in his family.....
Just sucks it took him. I know he was not finished with his life but he is now in no more pain. To Peter Be at peace my friend,go find my brother David, than find Dimebag and raise hell!
To the Idots who comments are below? Peter was right about you all...... figure that one out.
