Frankly, it's a little surprising it took this long for somebody to remind people to please NOT rub their wing-sauce-covered hands all over the train, but Jason Shelowitz could apparently take it no more and started a campaign against commuter rudeness.He made series of 10 posters, each explaining a different offense, among them loud iPods and the people who sing along with them, public nail clipping (come on people, really?) and eating. The worst offense in his mind? Standing in his goddamn way.
"I feel pretty strong about people blocking the doorways," Shelowitz tells Asylum. "I guess people are afraid that if they step all the way into the train that they won't be able to get out in time for their stop, which is absurd. But really, all 10 of my posters address issues that I feel very strongly about, as do, apparently, thousands of other people."
The posters all look like travel advisory signs and are labeled MEA (Metropolitan Etiquette Authority), so chances are good people might actually read them thinking they're about to find out how MTA is screwing them this weekend.
