Certain tech items have an annoyingly short shelf life. You either lose them, break them or get sick of them and swap them out for newer, better models. A perfect example of a product doomed to this cycle: headphones. You've lost track of them. You've stepped on them. You've destroyed the earbuds. Or you've gotten sick of your ears sweating under the weight of huge, DJ-rific headphones?Well fortunately, a new era has arrived in the headphone-space. Monster Cable's new Jamz High Performance In-Ear Headphones are virtually indestructible. They're designed to stand up to constant use, even passing the test of being run over by a truck and coming out intact.
Asylum and Monster are teaming up to give a pair of these incredibly durable headphones away to three lucky Asylum readers. To enter, fill out the form below by 6 p.m. on April 29. Three winners will be randomly selected. Click through to enter the giveaway and to watch a demo that illustrates just how robust the Jamz actually are.
Asylum's Monster Jamz headphones giveaway is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, please use the form on this post. You must enter before 6:00 pm Eastern Time on April 29th. You may enter once per email address, and three winners will be selected in a random drawing. The prize pack will include the following item: (Approximate total retail value $119.95) one set of Monster Cable's Jamz High Performance In-Ear Headphones. OK, but how strong is the cord? That's the way that 90% of my headphones die, the sound quality gets all screwed because I wrap my cord around my mp3 player (and that's never gonna stop happening, so don't tell me to use that little windy-ma-jigger they give me. never gonna happen). I don't usally have the problem of my hammer slipping out of my hands and destroying my earbuds.

My headphones, whether they be full cans or ear-buds, all tend to go at the connector between the jack and the cable to the outputs. I wear them at work, listening to my NT&I stations as I find out what our civilization is -mucking- up this time. I keep having to anchor the wire or adjust the angle the wire joins the connector. The term hemorrhoid comes to mind in my dealing with ear-pieces of any kind, variety or price.
