The Big Apple is the culinary capital of the world.

According to S. Pellegrino's annual rankings, which were released this week, six of the globe's 50 finest eating establishments have New York addresses.

Daniel (8), Per Se (10), Le Bernardin (15), Momofuku Ssäm Bar (26), wd ~ 50 (45) and Eleven Madison Park (50) were the NYC spots selected by a 806-member panel consisting of world-renowned chefs, food critics, restaurateurs and gourmands.

As it turned out, New York had as many entries on the list as any entire country besides the United States.

A quick scan of the menus of these S. Pellegrino–endorsed eateries reveals a common thread: They're going to cost you.
