At last, those poor denizens of Dumbo have a place to imbibe their south-of-the-border sud outdoors -- again. The patio seating at Pedro's is back.

See, last year was a depressing summer for the lushes who reside in the waterfront Brooklyn district, because, just when the coveted Tejano dive had started slinging cervezas and pool food to sun worshipers, the city received an anonymous tip that the joint was selling alcohol on the Front Street sidewalk without a permit. And thus, Pedro's had to keep its business inside for the duration of the summer. But Pedro's saucy patron, simply known as Rosie, said the outfit (and its checking account) went through the proper bureaucracies this go-round to serve outside.

The permit "cost thousands of dollars," she told Asylum while rapping her knuckles around the bar inside and stuffing her mouth with what looked like a hunk of crispy bacon -- a gluttonous indulgence to probably help ease the pain of the bureaucratic expense. "But it will pay off," she assures. "Pedro's is known for its patio."

And this is good news, of course, for the Dumbo drunks to, once more, have an actual place to swig back Tecate without having to resort to the four other boozy haunts, all of which are unintentionally cavernous and without a fixture you wouldn't want to screw with named Rosie.
