As superfans of Brooklyn's Barcade, we got a kick out of Dan Solomon's look at the best video game bars in America. Whether you're knocking one back between rounds of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" at Ground Kontrol in Portland, or trying to beat the top score in "Joust" at Grand Rapids, Michigan's Stella's Lounge, there really are few things better than a good video game bar.

If our list didn't pinpoint a bar near you, Asylum readers helped us add in a couple more locales to drink and game.

Nick writes, "This is a pretty good list. If you are looking for a good video game bar in San Francisco, try The Buckshot. While the staff can be a bit surly, the beers are cheap, the games are good+retro and they have skee-ball."

Wiseoracle says, "Manitou Springs, Co, has a beautiful indoor and outdoor arcade." (Got a name for the bar, Wiseoracle? You never know when you could go on a bender and end up in central Colorado.)

Lastly, Chris Shay makes a case for venturing down to the Magic Kingdom: "Allow me to mention that if you are in the southwest Orange County, FL, region, then DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney is worth a visit. There is a bar, sort of, on the fourth or fifth floor ... (well, OK, you can buy beer and wine. Just don't expect to get blotto. This is Disney, after all.) But they got Galaga. And cupcakes. Oh, and there are 200-300 arcade games, plus a few extras ..."

"Galaga" and cupcakes? That just might make braving the hordes at Disney World slightly bearable.
