We love a hero, but in our time reporting on worldwide acts of heroism, few reach the level achieved by Andrew Leitch. The Aussie father was captured on CCTV clinging desperately to his son Haydn after taking the full impact of car smashing into him and a shop front.
Amazingly, the baby escaped without a scratch, but Mr. Leitch's elderly parents were tossed across the foyer. Despite a long period in a critical condition in hospital, both have now recovered.
The shocking sequence was captured on a security camera near Sydney, Australia. The 82-year-old driver had a heart attack and careened her car at almost 45 mph into the Leitch family.
"I was thinking I can take the hit. I can repair, but there's no way my son is going to repair," said Andrew. Keep reading to see the amazing video.

Why do people go right for taking away a license. Medical conditions , well lets see you take any meds ( then no license )
and no exceptions. Is that what you want? Should we let doctors decide who drives or not. Get off it and think before you speak.
The story is not about the driver, it's about a father doing what comes naturally. Saving his childs life. And yes it's nice to see a human piece done by the news, all to often it's about some celeb, sports star or political pompass ass that I could care less about. Tihs is an average joe doing what came naturally . I am grateful to see all survived.

That was the most inspirational thing I have ever witnessed. He even managed to keep calm and try to soothe his son while he was crying afterwards. A hero, indeed.

shocking...YES. Heroic?? He didnt have a choice...he was already holding the baby....there was no way he would have time to think especially since the car was coming at him from behind.
GREAT that no one perished in this horrible incident, but I dont see any heroism in this story. No one sacrificed anything to save anybody. This was purely masses of objects colliding into each other.

I think that father should be given a Hero's Medal, because nowadays some parents are so selfish and self-serving they will sacrifice the child's life for their own!! and this man showed True Love for his child...there is no greater love!!

instinctive behavior can be heroic. Luck is also good since of all those involved the baby would have been the least likely to survive an impact like that.

none know what they would do in a crisis. but, i see nothing exceptional in it. exceptional are all the dead-beats, abusers and the negligent. that leaves me jaw wagging; not this. this is what i hope to avoid and will do without realizing what has occurred. i doubt the dad made any choice at all. the term Father should transcend the lowly hero.

Just curious about the other two people that are shown flying through the air in that video. I see two sets of legs flying up and out of the frame.
