It was 30 years ago this month that "The Empire Strikes Back" -- which most Star Wars fans consider the pinnacle of the storied franchise -- was released. To celebrate the occasion, Point Break, a three-story midtown bar that embraces all things kitsch and '80s is featuring Star Wars–inspired art all this week.
"Visions of the Empire," curated by artist Adam Hays, kicked off Friday night with an appearance by the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion.
According to Kyle Radzyminski, a partner at the bar, "several pieces and many prints" were sold at the opening.
"Visions of the Empire" will run until Sunday, May 23. If you are looking to geek up your joint with artistic interpretations of your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away, prints run 15 bucks and original pieces go between $150 and $3,000.
Or if you're interested in enjoying your favorite adult beverage in the midst of images from your favorite childhood movie, that will work too.
Read on the check out some of the art.
