The campaigning is over, the kegs are kicked, and the taps are dry. It's finally time to do your duty and vote for America's Next Top Beer -- the one small-scale craft brew that truly belongs in coolers from coast-to-coast.The nominees
Our search was exhaustive. We pulled together an A-Team of beer experts -- minus the van -- and drilled into their wealth of beer knowledge. We also sent out the clarion call of craft beer to you, and suggestions for our Readers' Choice nominee came in from Boston to Hawaii, leaving no sudsy stone unturned. This tireless research and pint-pounding finally lead us here -- it's now time to crown one of these 12 finalists America's Next Top Beer.
The next steps
Over the next week we'll be presenting each of the beers that made the nomination cut. You'll see how our beer experts size them up, and be able to cast your vote. Whichever microbrew earns the most votes by June 4 will be officially recognized as America's Next Top Beer 2010 -- the microbrew we expect to take over taste buds in the next year.
And just in case the prospect of being part of the voting process for America's Next Top Beer isn't enough for you, we've partnered with the Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club to offer a free year-long membership to one lucky Asylum reader. To enter, just leave a comment on the bottom of this post (or any other America's Next Top Beer post until May 27, 2010). We'll randomly select a giveaway winner after we've revealed which microbrew is the winner. For more giveaway details and to read the official rules, click here.

Love Brookln Lager. I been enjoying thier lager for over 16 years. It's good example of american lager, crisp, clean and great to drink in the summer. They make a great Chocolate Stoudt, Pennant Ale of which Im very fond of also.

All these beers are crap besides one! Jai Alai is the best beer on this list. Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA? That's what chicks drink when they don't like the taste of beer.

Lagunitas needs to get more respect as they make great beers, but the seasonals are far superior to their IPA.

Not as disappointing as the voting... If the only beer on the list you recognize, or have had is Fat Tire, your vote shouldn't count.

It was a toss-up (or should I say bottoms-up) between the Brooklyn and the Fat Tire for me.

Agreed. New Belgium makes some great beers, but Flat Tire isn't one of them. Bland, bland, bland. Give me a 1554, Abbey, Ranger, Folie, almost anything but a boring Flat Tire that only phonies drink.

I'm sorry, but that kind of attitude has always irritated me. Fat tire is the beer that built that brewery from a garage beer into one of the most enjoyed beers in the country. Yes, it is easier to drink than a lot of super hoppy ipa's or thick dark bocks, which of course, is WHY it's so widely enjoyed! Thats the point of beer, enjoying it, not trying to "out man" each other by whose beer is the "strongest". While I agree with you that New Belgium makes better beers, (my personal favorite being La Folie) no beer on this list is better suited to helping replace tap handles across the country currently belonging to the "king" and opening up peoples minds and taste buds to new beers!

I'd argue with you, but arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics(even if you win, you're still retarded).
All I am saying is that I find Fat Tire boring. Lot's of people start breweries in their garages or some other sort of small operation, just look at Stone Brewery for example. I agree that's cool, I just don't like Fat Tire. It's not terrible, but I don't find it great either.
And from my experience, pseudo-hipsters looooove fat tire.

I'm glad that I have no idea what a "pseudo-hipster" is and have no plans whatsoever on Googling it. So now that the stereotypes are out of the way let's get on to the beer. Fat Tire is a good beer and if I were to select a beer to be the next top beer in America I would pick Fat Tire beer, partially because I live in Fort Collins and absolutely love New Belgium's beers, but also because it is a simple, poundable beer with 5.6% ABV. So you can drink a lot of beer AND get wasted, unlike the 3% beers you get at the grocery store. In case you haven't noticed the only reason I wrote a reply was to say the word "beer" as many times as possible. Beer.
