The BBC nature series "Life," now on glorious Blu-ray, is a substantial improvement over watching grainy videos of tigers devouring elks on YouTube. The smooth, dulcet tones of Sir David Attenborough narrating gorgeous, high-def footage of apes, leopards and other creatures stalking their prey, procreating and generally being awesome. The perfect cure for a hangover on Sunday mornings, all in a handy Blu-ray package. (Discovery Channel fans can snag the inferior American version, narrated by Oprah Winfrey.) Also in stores:
-- "Disney Parks: The Secrets, Stories and Magic Behind the Scenes" pulls back the curtain on the Magic Kingdom with an in-depth look at the house that Mickey built. Hopefully there's footage of Mickey and Snow White getting busted while in-costume.
-- Tim Burton's "Alice Wonderland" comes to Blu-ray and DVD without the 3-D. Whether or not this is an improvement is entirely due to how you feel about wearing those headache-inducing glasses.
-- "Burn Notice: Season Three" has one thing going for it that other USA shows lack: the awesome jaw of Bruce Campbell.
