Guinea pig in nyc, navigeatersOutside of PetCo, you don't see a lot of guinea pigs roaming around New York City. But in Queens, you can find whole herds of the cute little furballs ... on the menu at El Pequeño Coffee Shop.

The Ecuadorian dish, known as "cuy," is a spit-roasted guinea pig that bears an uncanny resemblance to one of its unsavory rodent cousins. (Turns out, the little guys aren't very cute after they've been shaved and burnt to a snarling crisp.)

At El Pequeño, you get the whole pig for 40 bucks, which includes a few sides (fried mashed potatoes, fava beans and huge kernels of Ecuadorian corn) and a set of rodent teeth you can take home as a souvenir.

There isn't much meat on critter, and what it does have is difficult to reach through its thick, tough skin. The most delicious body part? The ears. They snap off easy and taste like pork rinds. It's a shame a guinea pig only has two of them.
