To think, only two months ago there were only 55 different spin-offs of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" on the Web. But, thanks to indie recording artists like Jackson Harris, we'll never have to worry about tiring from those covers. Instead we can continually indulge ourselves in the various versions of the Gotham anthem. Painful to some, but to guys like Harris the track was an inspiration.
"I don't look down on other versions of the song at all," the native Upper East Sider tells Asylum. "After seeing what people were able to do with almost no budget, it did inspire me to create something. I feel really connected to NYC."
