"This is my older sister (by 12 years) and my father. She got boxing gloves for Christmas and thought it would be a good idea to challenge our father. From the picture, you can tell, it wasn't such a good idea."
Awkward Family Photos - Father's Day Edition
This Father's Day, give Dad the attention he deserves.

When you're a kid, your father is the coolest guy in the world. Then you grow up and recognize him as the rigid and controlling bastard who ruined your life. (Just kidding, Dad.) On Father's Day, however, we can all look back and remember when Dad was just that goofy dude in the awkward family photos.

Wow..my second Father's Day without my dad! I lost him due to diabetes and heart failure at the young age of 60. He was the coolest dad ever. I miss him everyday. So all of you folks who still have yours, enjoy and appreciate him cause you never know when he will be taken away...God bless all daddies...

Didn't Al Gore also once state that he "invented" the internet? LMAO !!
Kids are not automatically smart, but they 'might' turn out smarter. After we bust our butts working just to be able to spend the thousands upon thousands of dollars to educate them, to prepare them for a job that won't even exist. Of course there will also be their utter lack of common-sense aspect to contend with thanks to having been told how to think for all those years! wink wink

Actually, while Gore was in the senate, he championed funding which led to the development of the internet. His "inventing" the internet was a label pushed on him by Karl Rove as a mockery of his credibility. However inaccurate, this turned out to be an ingenius political strategy. Something to think about when you wonder why your son had to get messed up fighting in the middle east, when you wonder what happened to our standing in the rest of the world, or why lost your house and job.

You are kidding, right? This article is clearly just celebrating the humor that is a part of daily life. What teenager/young adult didn't think that their parents were totally uncool, and that they "ruined their life?" What kid didn't think that their dad was the smartest strongest guy on earth? What adult doesn't realize that their parents are human beings with human flaws who have helped to shape them into the people that they are today? Of course, I'm not speaking of absentee or worse fathers, but seriously, in a healthy family, there is room for some healthy humor. There's nothing wrong with this article. Laugh a little.

Um, actually, there is video of Al Gore giving himself credit for creating the internet, so you can't blame Bush, Rove or the Easter Bunny for this one. The words are coming out of his own mouth.
What amazes me is that some people just will not understand what is going on, even when there is video and audio tape to prove it. I guess it's more comfortable believing and doing what you're told.

i'd rather go topless too, than be caught dead in those hot ugly flannel pj's. but in all seriousness, if it is a family photo, the father should have respected that and put on his ugly pj's too. not sure why his wife tollerated his choice of non clothing for a family portrait. makes you wonder what else she tollerated throughtout her marriage. the girls look happy tho lol.

I agree. He's not hurting anyone and the wife and kids seem to "get" dad. I wish my dad had had a sense of humor. These will be the family photos that are looked at over and over.....with smiles. Enjoy yourself...life is too short to wear flannel pajamas.....if you don't want to! Lighten up and enjoy!

Why do most Americans have such an aversion to the human body?

This is a completely harmless article. I have only one question. Why is the picture of the good-looking body builder and his kid included?

Bodybuilders are dads too. Why not show off your young child as well as your bod.

two of these pictures are not the least bit funny, the one of the Dad Boxing his Daughter, and the one of te Dad giving his child a taste of his beer. these two morons should be in jail for child abuse and contributing to the deliquency of a minor

Child abuse? Contributing to the deliquency of a minor? Dude, are you serious? How many of us didn't get a taste of beer as a little kid? This picture looks easily taken, in the late 60's/70's. They didn't have all this "child abuse" For the ones who did get a few swigs of beer back when we were little, did we turn out all right? Yes

No, all of us weren't given a swig of beer as kids. Some of us weren't raised by hillbillies.

I liked the picture of the family in football jerseys with the numbers corresponding to their ages, thought it was a neat idea. And what's wrong with each member of the family holding one of their little white dogs? That isn't "awkward," it's a creative way to include the pets in the picture.

Was their a point to all of this? Isn't there an oil spill in Louisiana that y'all could be reporting on. So what families have embarassing pictures of themselves but saying that this is good journalism is a joke.
