Writer (and Asylum contributor) Chris Illuminati is undergoing two pretty big lifestyle changes at once: He had his first child in April; and in May he left his office job as an editor to become a freelance writer, and stay-at-home dad.

Illuminati has combined these two new experiences into a blog called "Message With a Bottle," in which he shares the lessons, struggles and insights of a new father, one Post-It note at a time.

Why Post-Its? Illuminati uses the sticky paper to keep track of his writing assignments. Then, a couple months ago, he jokingly wrote "feed baby" on one of his ready supply.

"I thought, What if I really had to do this for the simplest things? and that's were the idea came from," Illuminati explained.

Look for things at "Message With a Bottle" to kick up a notch in July, when Illuminati's wife returns to work, leaving him as his 3-month-old son's only daytime caregiver.

As for Illuminati's crystal-clear handwriting? Credit the nuns. "12 years of Catholic school," Illuminati told us, when we complimented him on his old-fashioned penmanship.
