Couldn't land that summer internship at your dream firm, Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce? That may have something to do with the fact that it's a fictitious Madison Avenue ad agency from the 1960s and the centerpiece of the AMC drama "Mad Men."Luckily, CharityBuzz has posted a not-so-well-publicized auction on behalf of Project Angel Food, with a starting bid of only $250, offering a summer day at Don Draper's den of sin and rotary phones.
The auction, which closes at 2:12 p.m. EST on Thursday, has few bids but thousands of leering page views. That's because the tour has been donated and will be led by none other than Joan Holloway -- otherwise known as actress Christina Hendricks, better known as "The One With the Knockers of Plenty."
Christina's H-bombs will lead you by the nose around set, through Mr. Draper's cigarette dungeon of an office, past copywriter vixen Peggy Olsen's pristine vintage typewriter, into a boardroom full of your favorite characters, acting out the capitalist nightmare of greed, infidelity and cleavage, glorious cleavage. For this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you will pay an estimated -- and surprisingly paltry -- $3,000.
At those rates, Christina Hendricks should just charge guys for five seconds of shaking her hand and staring at her boobs. She could do that all day for a year and never have to work again.
