But we can all believe in the value of a good laugh. One plucky young satirist had the right idea recently when he minimized a brimstone preacher's "You're all going to hell" screed ... with pancake mix.
Since he wasn't torn apart by bears at the end of the video, we decided to round up some of our favorite videos of people heckling hateful preachers, which, naturally, led us to the Westboro Baptist Church.
When you're picketing Marines' funerals and even the KKK makes a point of distancing itself from you, you've plainly failed as Americans.
Keep reading to see the best videos of Phelps and the gang getting pwned.
Our first fine fellow swoops in at the two-minute mark in Anonymous's hallmark Guy Fawkes mask, and steals the WBC's Hawaiian flag. Damn right, because our ancestors didn't annex Hawaii at gunpoint just for some anti-American types to come in and wish for its destruction.
This next youth strides brazenly into the church's midst and promptly Rick Rolls them. Considering the Westboro Baptists start their morning with a prayer for God to kill everyone and end it by gargling with the blood of the unbaptized, that takes a serious pair. Buy this guy a beer if you know him.
The great thing about this country is when hatemongers gather, they're usually met by a much larger counter-protest. So here's something you don't hear every day -- how about a cheer for the frat boys? The guys at Alpha Delta Phi decided to protest the WBC by dancing to Diana Ross. In terms of gaiety, their dance only lands a 5 out of 10, but the judges award you a perfect score for Awesome, Alpha Delta Phis!
And, of course, the video that inspired us in the first place, "You ain't got no pancake mix!"

I'm from Kansas... I believe the Westboro church is a good example of why we need to move the capital from Topeka. I have never actually seen them picket personally but before the abortion doctor here, Dr. Tiller was shot and killed in a morning church service there used to be an anti-abortion truck that drove around. Gotta love kansas....

I'm from Kansas as well, and I totally agree. They are ignorant and give Kansas a bad name. I have seen them protest once when I was on my way to a concert. But I didn't know that they were this big; and hateful. But I already knew that they were hateful when I saw their sign reading, "God Hates Fags." When I went to church (no longer) I was taught that God loved everyone. So, they are ignorant.

I AM A CHRISTIAN! I'll state that fact loud and clear. And I sin.. daily. I try not to, but I do.
I gotta say, though, these people give real Christians a bad name. They make us all look bad. Makes me angry. One dude, brain washed a couple people, then those people mislead hundreds to believe the Holy Bible says that God hates people. He doesn't hate anyone. God is wrathful, I'll give you that much. And he can get angry. But he doesn't hate people. And the irony of this group of nutso people don't realize that while they protest the American Soldiers and America herself, its America and her men at arms that gave them the right to publicly protest anything. If they spoke the way they do in some other countries in the world, they've been shot in the street or arrested. Bunch of ignorant people. Makes me so frustrated. Grants, I don't like our government issues and the way it can push our rights away when it deems it is okay to do so, it is still our country. Its still our Nation under God. And those who do not appreciate it and say that God hates America and her Soldiers, don't deserve to be protected under it's flag. They should be deported to what ever country would have them. Oh wait... I know, send them to Iraq and see how happy they'd be. Okay, so, that's not very Christian of me. I still they should be deported to who ever would take them. And the children can either stay and undergo psychiatric evaluation or they can go with their parents.

I am also a Christian and I totally agree with you. If heaven is filled with people like them (which I HIGHLY doubt) I would rather go to hell.
Also, I think we should send the to Iran because we all know that "there are no gay people in Iran" (I call shenanigans!)

What an ugly bunch of cranks pretending to be followers of Christ. They even look like minions form hell. Hate really is a cancer. It has eaten the Westboro hate-mongers from the inside out. God is love and is therefore incapable of hate. To the counter-demonstrators: you're a lot of fun and as a fellow sinner, I'd much rather hang out with you. At least we're forgiven. Doubt the same can be said for the Westboro Baptist Friends of Satan Church.
