Yes, sucker, because now we've got EXTREME sunsets. Boom! They'll make all your previous sunsets look like they were shot in black and white.
Now sit back, relax and pretend you're Luke Skywalker gazing at some binary suns after a hard day of nerf-herding.
1. Sunset From the International Space Station

2. Sunset on Mars

3. Sunset From the Earth-Orbiting Space Shuttle Endeavor on July 29, 2009

4. Sunset in Manhattan Along the Centerline of Every Street. Usually, the tall buildings that line the gridded streets of New York City's tallest borough will hide the setting sun. The same thing happens every May 28 and July 12.

5. Crescent Sunset During an Eclipse

Bonus: Artist-Rendered Double Sunset
Update: Thank you commenter Bill for pointing out that the North Pole photograph was proven to be fake.

"bozotheclown:" Sorrry, Dummy, but "bob" had it right - apparently, something happened to the caption for picture number one, and it was substituted for with the caption for number two (I think - I'm really not familiar with the sunset on Mars or from the space shuttle). After that, each caption goes not with the picture it is next to, but the next picture.
Oh - and the captions are neither at the tops nor the bottoms of the pictures - they are to the right. Dummy!
Ever wonder what language all of us are speaking, "bozotheclown?" You should learn to read it. Take a course in English as a second language - you can learn to read, and, if you're lucky, learn the difference between top, bottom, left, and right! - Dummy, dummy, dummy!

'3. Sunset at the North Pole' is a fake!! That is CGI. The sun part might be okay but you could never have the moon like that!! Learn some science and you won't get duped.

If you read the comment on the picture it says "artist rendered" - meaning the photographer "made" it that way.

Why is it that people write in all these comments just to advertise a product, another web site, a political jab, or a lonely hearts club. It's very annoying and has nothing to do with the main subject, Just stick to the MAIN SUBJECT, folks!

I seriously question the validity of all of these pictures because the Sunset at the North Pole has been floating around the net since 2005. Snopes says it is false and is purely a digital creation by a 22-year-old astrophysics student using Terragen scenery rendering software.

that's no moon, that's a space station!
this was a test, to see if we are paying attention.
except for the "north pole" pic, nice.

Why do you keep circulating that image of the sunset at the North Pole? The apparent angular size of the sun and the moon in sky are nearly the same so the image has to be fake. In addition if the moon was in that new moon conjunction alignment you would not see the moon at all. Who posts this stuff?

Is the author of this article an idiot? The 3rd photo at The North Pole is computer generated. Doesn't anyone ever proofread this "stuff" before you publish it online???

In over 2,000 years of scientific inquiry and discovery, God has never been found - because - GOD DOES NOT EXIST !

I just wanted to ask lakearcher, did your mother show you love? If she did-can you touch it? Things exist without being seen or touched, but they are still there. God is like that.

"lakearcher:" Think about it this way: "Faith in God" - What is it? A safe description would be to say that faith is a belief in something without having any physical proof that it exists. Fair? There have, however, been countless instances of that Faith being justified through visible, empirical, results. - Now: do you believe in Darwinism (evolution)? If so, then I have to ask you: why? There is absolutely no proof, empirical or anecdotal, that evolution is real to the extent that Man is a descendant of some lower form of species. In fact, evolution is such a faith-based belief that it should not be taught as fact in public schools!
You can have your faith, and I will have mine. In the end, if I'm wrong, it won't matter - if you're wrong - you've got some 'splaining to do!

And yet, longer than this science inquiry you speak of has been around, there has been the belief in God. If there is anything, there is THAT fact.
and guess what? There are plenty of scientists out there who -- DESPITE having NOT found any proof -- still believe. It's not a question of "fact" to us anyways-- it's a question of faith.
