A new gold standard may have been set for finding the perfect mate: a woman bought her geeky husband a USB wedding ring. Of her own accord. As a surprise. For serious.Ray Arifianto is a game developer for Microsoft, and his bride wanted to show her support for his extreme nerdiness, so she had a ring custom made to look like a USB drive.
No, it doesn't work. (We know, we know.)
But, it does inspire all sorts of "insert Tab A into Slot B jokes," which is like the whole point of being married, right? Engraved inside the ring are the words "for a lifetime of memories." Ha ha, USB; ha ha ha, memory.
The sweet gesture was well-received and will hopefully have greater longevity than the Zip disk cuff links of yesteryear. Remember Zip disks? Yeah, neither do we.

I think it's cool as all get. The man has a reputable occupation and his wife is proud of what he does. So the engraving in the ring is kind of punny, but it would make sense inside a regular wedding ring, it just goes double for this ring. I think the ring itself is cool, too. You can't get any more unique than that. That's what marriage is all about.

My husband LOVES comic books. So his wedding ring has batman symbols all over it and it can rotate. It is really nice! He loves it because it symbolizes me loving him for who he is!!!

My wife jokes around with me and tells me that she's gonna get a ring for me with a small battery in it so that whenever I act up she presses a button on a remote and it'll give me a shock to keep me in line.

I imagine there are a lot of people with rings appropriate to their skills or occupation. The jerk that wrote this article though should be punched out for referring to the man or ANYONE as a geek. In addition referring to his "extreme nerdiness" is also way past out of line. And once again some cretan that thinks they are a writer refers to themselves as "we" this and "we" that. Get over yourself, you are not royalty and you are NOT much of a writer.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Maybe you should wake up and smell the bacon.

I think the ring is a clever design and think there will be requests for more like it to be produced!
As for the terms "nerd" or "geek,"I often refer to myself as a "nerd" or "geek" and my friends who are nerds/geeks refer to themselves the same way. Since when are either of these terms offensive? Not sure who this "ty" person is speaking for, but he or she is beyond clueless.

Well, I can certainly see why your wife (no doubt ex-wife) dispatched you. Now, go apply peanut butter to your "special parts" (special only to you, I'm sure) and play with the dog, which is probably what you wanted all along.

Joke's on her! USB was developed at Intel, not Microsoft.
