It turns out it's not enough to have an iPhone. You've got to have all the accessories, as well -- event the case that makes the thing actually work for left-handed people. One of these accessories is the iPhone dock. You can get simple ones, Bose speaker ones or radio ones. But we want something far geekier than that, so we went out to investigate ...
And discovered this beauty: a classic rotary phone, with an iPhone docking slot. It's almost cooler than the iPhone itself.
Keep reading to see the other geeky treasures we unearthed, including the Mario pipe dock and the NES controller dock. Of course.
The dock in question: The Dreamcast dock Geekiness description: The fact that the Dreamcast is long dead makes this cool, somehow. (Well, we think so.) Anyway, recycling at its finest here, making truly useless junk marginally more useful. If you have an iPhone, anyway.

The dock in question: The brachiosaurus dock Geekiness description: Dinosaurs! Excellent! We would have preferred a stegosaurus (the coolest dino in creation), but as plastic dinosaur toys with iPhone docks in them go, this is the best.

(A one-off, alas)
The dock in question: The LEGO dock Geekiness description: By keeping your LEGOs on your desk, you eliminate the risk of stepping on them and crying out in extreme pain. Geekiness rating: 6/10

The dock in question: The Mario pipe dock Geekiness description: When we first saw this, we were just grateful it wasn't going to swallow up the iPhone as some sort of elaborate prank. Or have a chomping flower emerge from the top, though that would be damn impressive.

The dock in question: The NES gun dock Geekiness description: Annoyingly, when you try to "fire" this beauty, with iPhone on board, it falls off. Still, when it's on the desk, it looks like it might work. Which is the point, right?

The dock in question: The soccer ball dock Geekiness description: Soccer geeks are still geeks, and if there's an opportunity to make ball-shaped gadgets or gizmos, they'll buy 'em. Here's the Apple offering -- alas, it doesn't react well to a good kicking.

The dock in question: The NES controller dock Geekiness description: Now that we've had the Dreamcast controller and the NES gun, we had to have the controller of controllers, as seen here. Plus, the buttons are very therapeutic when bashed.

The dock in question: The rotary phone dock Geekiness description: Everyone wants an excuse to have an old school Bakelite phone on their desk, but the ringing is so infuriating it wouldn't be fair on your colleagues. So here's the solution. One iPhone, one old phone. Win.

The dock in question: The dashboard dock Geekiness description: Now you can play a racing game ... and feel like you're in a car. Sort of. Maybe. It'll make the tilt games difficult, but you'll be so pleased your desk has turned into a car, you just won't care.

Oh man! I've been working on a dock far geekier than those for the last week. I'm just waiting for the paint to dry right now.
It's a Munny (diy vinyl toy) that I've converted into a Deadpool (of Marvel Comics fame) iPod dock with audio-out and usb-B input for power. I was debating if I wanted to post it anywhere when it's finally finished.
