Oh, man, somebody is soooooo grounded, but at least it's for a good reason. A 12-year-old girl from Islip landed herself in serious hot water by calling the cops on her drunk-driving mom ... while she was in the back seat. And you thought tweens could only communicate via texts and Facebook. Her mother picked her and her 10-year-old brother up from their grandparents' house in Connecticut and was taking them back home to Long Island, but Jamie Hicks was in no condition to be driving -- she was swerving across Interstate 84 and incoherent. She was also, apparently, a mean drunk. When cops called back after the cell phone had dropped the signal they could hear her screaming at her daughter.
Fortunately, Hicks had pulled over when the cops called back and they were able to locate the car during that call. She was arrested for a felony DWI because she had minors in the car. Props to her daughter for being willing to risk a month without cable to potentially save the lives of herself, her brother and other people on the road.
