What's the most interesting thing you saw on your bleary-eyed commute to work this morning? We're betting it doesn't come close to this.
Confused motorists in California were recently greeted by the bizarre sight of police chasing two zebras that were running down a road.
The zebras were meant to be loaded onto a truck in Carmichael on Saturday, when they were spooked by a dog and escaped, bolting off in opposite directions.
The striped fugitives then spent the next five hours running around the downtown area -- much to the bemusement of residents and drivers -- as cops tried to catch them.
One was recaptured after being hit by a car (it only suffered a superficial cut), while the other was eventually found relaxing in the swimming pool of a nearby apartment building. Both zebras have been taken to an Oregon ranch.
Luckily for the Internet, this was not before several clips of sheriff's deputies chasing the zebras found their way to YouTube. Keep reading to see the glorious footage.
