Las Vegas is the most stressed-out city in the nation. To determine a city's stress level, Forbes magazine measured its unemployment rate, commute times, work hours, access to health care, physical health of its residents, and the amount its citizens exercise. Vegas was catapulted to the top spot by a high unemployment rate and residents who exercise less than those in any other major city.
Poor physical health was the main factor in Los Angeles landing in second place. Houston; Tampa, Fla.; and Riverside, Calif., rounded out the top five.
It's pretty impressive that Las Vegas snagged the top spot, considering the methodology didn't even take into account its unique characteristics -- like being surrounded by drunken tourists who think their actions have no consequence -- that only add to why Vegas is such a stressful place to live.

Don't be silly, there are not as many Mormons here as you seem to think. Glad to see you gone....don't bother coming back either.

I live in Las Vegas because I love it here. If anyone doesn't like it, just move away. Nothing worse than a whiner and complainer who blames all their troubles on something other than themselves. If you gripers think you can find a paradise filled with happy unicorns and giant flowers and butterflies carrying cookies to you all day long, go for it. You are going to have a very long search. And the tourists are very welcome and bring a bit of life from everywhere....they are a pleasure to talk to and everyone is here to have fun, so don't blame anything on the tourists either.

steve b ---- The gangster community of the WORLD?????? We have our share of stinking gangs, but come on! Ever been to NYC? LA? Chicago? Dallas? Seattle? Kansas City? MIAMI? Get real. Boston?
Cleveland? Need I really go on? Las Vegas is a mere freckle in comparison!

I was born (1951) and raised in Las Vegas. I never thought of living anywhere else. It simply was my home. I loved my home. Loved my work. 2 years ago I got sick and had to retire. Unfortunately I had to leave Vegas as the cost of living was beyond my retirement funds. I like very much where I now live in Oklahoma, but I do miss Vegas everyday. I didn't gamble or go to the casinos. Get away from that and it is just like anywhere else.

I lived here 4 years now and not till recently have I come to enjoy it. I had to remember that if I was going to walk around upset that I lived in this town that there had to be something wrong with me! It's all a state of mind! Overall i have a great job and live in a nice area, Ive made friends and have my health. This place has just as much to offer like any other town. You just need to open your eyes.... and for those that have fallen on hard times this is a time to reflect.

ok, i've been a resident since 1964, except for a few years in the service, it used to be a fun little town, pop 89,000 in 1970,clean air, nice people,a good education, one of the top in the nation. then all you easterners and south of the boarder came multiplied like rabbits, changed the weather, emptied the lake, filled the desert with concrete, crooked cal politics, mob mayors, liberual idiots, now why don't you idots jump back in your cars, airplanes, and what ever else you came in and get the hell out, and take your illegall help with you. then we could recover.bye bye

Little Rock, Arkansas is certainly the most stressful place
to live on planet earth. Horrible weather, terrible crime,
discourteous drivers, Jesus freeks all contribute to making
Little Rock an awful place to live.

That title should not surprise anyone that lives in Las Vegas. It is terrible and there genuinely appears to be no hope in sight. Construction has stopped in the city: therefore having an effect on everyone not only in construction but in supplying companies. People cannot afford to travel therefore our major source of income (casinos) is severly suffering. I pray for a turn of the economy not only for Las Vegas but for this entire country. We need to take care of our own and stop with helping every country that thinks we "are the bad guys".

Yes, the economy is in trouble. But it's bad just about everywhere. As far as "stress," the cities on this list are no where near the top of the rankings. It's far more stressful to live in New York or Washington, where everyone is packed together like sardines competing like rats to live in $3500 a month apartment buildings. Stress? In Las Vegas? Are you out of your mind??? The only stress I have here in Las Vegas is where to play gold each day and which team to bet on each Sunday. Yeah, it's really rough living here compared to those cluttered and crumbling East Coast cesspools.

YOU ARE DEAD WRONG!!!! My brother and his family are one fine example of good people who live in Vegas. Od course, if you never go to a CHURCH or a SCHOOL or VOLUNTEER, you'd never know that! I'm proud of my brother and his wife--she is a fine teacher with 2 Master's degrees in teaching - he works for a company there. They had a pay cut beginning of 2009; but, regained there salary level aftera few months. He does labor-intensive work and also has his batchelor's degree and certification in welding -- works on some of thos huge marquees, Disney stuff, buildings and more. He and all his family (teenager and young adults, too!) are putting down tile floors and all sorts of stuff in helping his wife's mom build a new house. I applaud them all! IF YOU NEVER TAKE THE TIME TO MEET REAL PEOPLE, YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE A SKEWED VIEW OF THE WORLD--BUT, That's up to you.

If you live in Little Rock, then, leave; but, I bet, with your outlook, it would look the same no matter where you are! "BLOOM WHERE YOU'RE PLANTED!!!!"

I have been going to Vegas since 1994 for its uniqueness. I eat, drink, gamble, see shows, and spend money there on my vacations. One thing keeps me from moving there and it has nothing to do with gangs or unemployment. The water crisis is it. I need grass somewhere being from the East and won't have it there. Life is stressful there because of all the excesses available. The whole country has economic problems and if people chose to end their life, that is their problem not that fault of anyone else. People shouldn't abandon the area because that won't help it change or get better. Don't give up on a city that has come so far! My money helped build it and I will keep coming back to support it in the little way I can. I'm not a whale, but my last visit in May was great and I will return.
