Have you always wanted to experience the awe-inspiring majesty and beauty of outer space without huffing an entire gallon of paint fumes? Now you can, if you've got the dough.
Virgin Galactic's civilian spaceflight program is now selling tickets to the lucky, lucky few who can afford the $200,00-per-seat price tag (that better come with a free drink). Customers can buy tickets through Virgin Galactic's website or through one of its many "space agents" located across the country. Each ticket includes a three-day training session at Virgin's Spaceport in New Mexico, designed to "ensure that you are mentally and physically prepared to savor every second of your spaceflight."
The flight takes approximately two hours for six to eight passengers at a time. Passengers will experience 3.5 Gs of force as the plane rockets to 2,600 mph to an altitude of 360,000 feet for five minutes of exquisite weightlessness, according to Andrew Rocchio, an accredited space agent with Strong Travel of Dallas.
Around 400 people total have already signed up for the spaceflight program, ranging from trust-fund teenagers to even the oldest fogey.
"It's such a new product and such a groundbreaking thing that there isn't a specific formula (or type of person)," Rocchio said. "I'll tell you this much, a 78-year-old lady is going." If Granny can, why not you? Click here to book your flight today.

The New Mexico Spaceport mentioned in this story is called "Spaceport America" and it's owned and operated by the State of New Mexico. Virgin Galactic has a 20-year lease to use Spaceport America.
