He's 18. And he's paraplegic. And he makes us look like complete and utter wusses. Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham is so good in a wheelchair, he can do backflips. Two to be exact. Catapulted by a specially adapted bungee cord, Aaron rides his wheelchair into a ramp, slinging himself into the air and spinning a clear 720 degrees in the air.
He'd done it before, quite a few times, but not without the all-important wheel-based landing, resulting in more than a few nasty crashes.
Despite being born with spina bifida, Aaron refused to let that stop his pursuit of thrills, first perfecting the wheelchair-based grind, carve and powerslide before moving onto the full-fledged backflip and, now, double backflip.
Check out the video of the stunt in question below.

Born with Spina Bifida, that's "probably how he got where he is..." Ignorance is as ignorance writes. Is there a chance he gets injured beyond his current state? Sure, but I'll take that anyday over someone (you) sitting around taking pot shots at someone trying to accomplish something.

With a name like Willy Mustafa the better question is, are you? Why would you ask that? Are you just butt stupid?

I am glad that he set his mind out to do something, and tried and tried continously until he succeeded...that's was totally wicked. But it pained me to see him fall so many times. I wonder if there was medical personnel nearby.
Does he compete in the para-olympics? Not sure, but I could see him starting a new trend, in the extreme sports field for paraplegics. I am sure there are others who would love for someone to just make the first move.

" Is he on social security ", and is he mentally disabled too, what sterotyping going on here....this kid is awesome, and I think you folks are ignorant, and would never make it when a tragedy befalls you..and it will some day..it gets everyone... Thses remarks are exactly why I get so frustrated with a socienty who is constantly yelling discrimination because you happen to be a "color" relegion or gay....The disabled are the most discriminated against in the workplace, school yards, playgrounds, and in social sitiuations than everyone else combined..yet they go on with quiet dignity living there lives and never giving up or blaming other people for their problems, you idiots should be admiring this kid instead of putting hime down, and if your an employer you should be offering him a job, think how he would perform for you with the kind of fearless dedication he has shown to accomplish his goal.

LOve this response..thx!! my daughter has Spina bifida also and has endured many stares etc. She is not wheelchair bound but has her struggles that ingnorant idiots like some of these people would never understand. NO shes not on SS either. SO that comment shows your stupidity.NOt all disabled kids or adults qualify. My daughter has accomplished way more in her short life so far than many of these idiots commenting. Aaron has accomplished a big goal. Way to go. as a mom i cringed watching..but kuddos to him!! By the way Mustafa..have u questioned any able bodied skater or biker or x games pro..do they have soc. sec??? what a stupid question!! Oh by the way englishdude..yes some people with SB have feeling. God people amaze me!!

That was fantastic. There are so many people who give up when something they want doesn't work out right away. This guy never gave up.

This story is a perfect example of how if a child is raised with good self-esteem and confidence in themselves, then no matter what their "disability" may be they can strive to achieve anything they set their mind to!
Good job, Aaron! :)
