Picture yourself driving down a road. You're going a little over the speed limit because, let's face it, you're normal. All of a sudden you look up from your radio to the road, and there's a little girl chasing a ball into the street!

You slam on the brakes, skid to a stop, collect yourself, then find out you've been tragically punk'd by the British Columbia Traffic Safety Foundation.

Starting today, to encourage safer driving in school zones, a $15,000 3-D display will be installed to scare the bejeezus out of speeding motorists. That's right, a $15,000 display. Couldn't they have just paid a smaller adult to dress like a child and run across the street?

The display is designed so that drivers traveling the 30 km/h speed limit (18 mph to normal folk) will be able to stop safely in the event that a real child is crossing the street.

Unfortunately, the majority of people who cruise around at 30 mph will be brought to a screeching halt, allowing them to reflect on just how inconsiderate and foolish they were being, right before another speeder crashes into the back of them.
