We've long followed the career of Sheyla Hershey, the 28-year-old Brazilian whose gargantuan M-cup implants were too big to be legally installed in the US.

So, it is with bittersweet remembrance that we read the news that Hershey had them removed yesterday, in Texas, following several severe infections. On the one hand, we are always fascinated by body modifications so extreme that they surpass sexy and head straight for freakish. On the other hand, think of the poor woman's back!

"I decided to go smaller -- a lot smaller. I just want a normal size, like a normal housewife has," Hershey said. "I know it's going to be a lot of pain on me because I love to have them, but I realize that my family comes first and I love my daughter and son, and they come first."

"Even though I love to have huge breasts I'm going to try to live without it. Hopefully I will be done then and be happy and just running around with my kids!"

Hershey has had no fewer than than 30 cosmetic surgeries. She became a star in her native Brazil after an attempt at a pop career failed in Asia.

Sheyla had recently been appearing in Brazilian soaps and comedy shows, as well as a Channel 4 documentary about women with really, really, big breasts -- but you probably guessed that. Keep reading for video of Hershey in more (over)inflated times.
