It's not every day you get a chance to show your poker face to a real, live card-playing champ. So, why not do it to one as nice to look at as Beth Shak? We've covered the sexy shark before, but this time we're offering up the opportunity for four lucky players to compete along with Beth in a charity event on Oct. 12 at the luxurious Lucky Strike Lanes in New York City.
Keep reading for details about the giveaway, the event and a video of Beth starring in an episode of our "Hot Girl, Cool Job" series.
What's the Deal?
Since Beth is actually a really nice person, as well as a pretty face, we decided to organize an event where you and other attendees will have a chance to play some poker and win some money for your favorite charity.
Where's the Action?
The event will be held at Manhattan's Lucky Strike Lanes (pictured below). For the event, we'll have unlimited bowling in private lanes, billiards, signature cocktails, appetizers and, of course, a bunch of poker tables for guests to try to beat the pants off of each other. (For a good cause, of course.)

Do You Want In?
If you want to get in on the action, just leave a comment below telling us which charity you want to play for. Four of you will be able to claim a spot at the table with Beth. Even if you don't win a spot, you can still join in on the fun by purchasing tickets for the event.
(Note: Unfortunately, we can't pony up the travel and hotel dollars, so please only enter if you're able to get to New York City under your own steam).

I would be playing for No More Homeless Pets. I worked with an organization after Katrina and it is amazing what a small amount of money can do to help the suffering of animals. I am a female amateur poker player and would love a chance to play in the big leagues. I think I can hold my own.

I am a NYC schooled poker player who would welcome the opportunity to play against pretty pro Beth as well as other regular players, like myself, for my charity choice; The Nevada Cancer Institute. My stepfather, who lives in Nevada, is presently battling this disease and I would be honored to help out in the fight for a cure.

I would like to play poker for the Wounded Warrior Project because the men and women that take care of us need all of the support they can get right now.

I would like the chance to play for the MaxFund. With revenues in the millions, Maxfund director and co-founder Nanci Suro's salary is a measly $27k! Some charity CEOs are needlessly paid huge salaries so Nanci Suro is definitely aces in my book! The MaxFund Animal Adoption Center was established in 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund provides emergency care and a home for injured animals until the owner is located or a suitable home is found. This service is provided, without cost, to the caring person who notifies the MaxFund. The MaxFund is a true no-kill shelter. They also provide low-cost vaccinations, pet food, and spay/neuter clinics for pets of low income families; no-fee adoptions for senior citizens and AIDS patients; and a therapy program which takes pets to visit senior centers, the VA Hospital and nursing homes. Good luck everybody!

I think there should be more females at the poker table! And what a perfect time to play for the charity directly linked to my heart...Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. My 10 year old son was diagnosed 3 years ago. October is the month J.D.R.F. hosts annual Walk For The Cure at Philadelphia Art Museum. We are in process of fundraising right now, hosting Family Movie Night on the Main Line. For past 3 years I set my alarm clock at 3am to check my son's blood sugar/treat him and nights when I cant get back to sleep I go on-line and play poker. And my family helps out once every few months when I get a "day off" and choose to unwind and play poker at the Borgata and Tropicana in Atlantic City! Although I didnt win the Ladies Tournament I DID get the bounty money the women offered for knocking out a guy who entered the Ladies Tournament at the Borgata last year! Raising two teenagers and a 10 year old can be challenging as Beth Shak knows, but I definitely make time for one of my favorite passions...Texas Hold-em its second to raising money to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes for my little guy. Beth Shak inspired me to never be intimated by men at the poker table. And so far, so good!

I would play for BFPA Rescue which stands for Best Friend Pet Adoption. They are a local charity who has a no-kill policy and helps other shelters find permanent homes for the animals so they do not have to be destroyed. Check them out on facebook. A great cause and of course if I play, they will WIN!

My charity would be the American Diabetes Association. I am 25yrs old and was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year. I'm an avid poker player and would like nothing more than to win some money for an organization that means a lot to me and millions of others around the world.

I will be playing for PETA because I mean who doesn't love animals. They can't speak or stick up for themselves so that's where we as people have to step up.

I'd like to play to help fund less toxic therapies for children with Cancer.
My charity is Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc.
Arms Wide Open
On July 6, 2008, the lives of Dena and Billy Sherwood changed forever when their then 13-month-old son, Billy Jr., was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a very aggressive cancer of the sympathetic nervous system that most commonly occurs in infants and children under the age of five.
There is no known cure for Neuroblastoma, and because it is relatively rare – affecting only approximately 650 children in the United States each year – research funding for this “orphan” cancer and more effective treatments is limited as pharmaceutical companies do not see the efforts as profitable. Only 30% of children diagnosed with this disease will survive, and those that do will face countless health risks due to the toxicity of today’s treatments.
The Sherwoods, recognizing that children should not be viewed as a profit but, rather, our investment, founded Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc., a registered 501(c)3 publicly supported nonprofit organization. Through its efforts, Arms Wide Open raises money for alternative therapies and actual treatments these children desperately need in order to prolong their lives until a cure is found.
