TLC (formerly The Learning Channel) has a reputation for simultaneously ensuring that its viewers receive neither education nor entertainment from its programs.
Gladstone explores just that in the latest Hate by Numbers.

Gladstone, I've loved HBN since it was just a text article. I still don't know why you constantly insist on trying to move away from your own style to include other bits. I admit, I don't personally find them funny, and I know that this show isn't designed around what I like, but you know your fans, as a whole, like your style of comedy, so why threaten that with other, less intelligent humor?

Thank you. I appreciate that. I think its very important for both the fans and me to shake up the show as much as possible. You will enjoy the next "straigh" hbn that much more because of this. Lots of people hated the SALT epi. Some said it was their favorite. I was just glad to do something different. And of course there will be more traditional HBNs in the future. Also, this is still one of my favs. But thanks for your thoughts and for following me to Asylum. Means a lot.

your quote
"Can TLC examine one Mormon's sex life and still make it boring?" needs to be rephrased. Polygamy has not been a part of the Mormon Church for 100 years. A Mormon practicing polygamy today is promptly excommunicated from the church. More accurately polygamists call themselves "Fundamentalist Mormons".

I'm so glad I found you on Asylum! This was awesome (too short, waa) I'm currently working on polishing my zingers... because I was never taught about choice and consequences!
