You've probably heard that us humans share 96 percent of our DNA with the great apes. Which would be more impressive, if we didn't also share 50 percent of our DNA with a banana. But, actually, there are some apes out there who have stunningly human abilities, if properly trained. Take Kanzi, the 29-year-old bonobo living in the Great Ape Trust in Iowa.
Kanzi has long been able to identify between 350 and 400 human words, and can understand his trainer's voice well enough to perform multi-step tasks upon request -- such as picking a mini TV set up and bringing it outside.
Kanzi was recently featured on "Oprah," which will surely call more attention to his surprising skills. Read on to see this amazing ape in action.
