Our weekly dispatch from the nation's foremost mustache expert.

Recently on the American Mustache Institute blog, we reported on the now-infamous Cigar Guy -- who appears in faux mustache and wig in the background of a photograph of Tiger Woods taken in Wales at the recent Ryder Cup by a Daily Mail photographer.
People wanted to know who this man, or woman, was. And why were they so curious?

Very simply: the mustache.

Rumors swirled about who this superior human was: Ravi Shankar? J.J. from "Good Times"? Condoleezza Rice?

Sadly, none of these turned out to be true.

In fact, he's a golf fan from South London named Rupesh Shingadia.

Keep reading to see what we know about him ...

  • He's 30 and lives with his parents.
  • He loves golf and soccer, which -- in addition to being British -- immediately disqualifies him as a Mustached American, as our community does not embrace soccer.
  • His outfit was an homage to golfer Miguel Angel Jimenez. As Shingadia told the Mail, "These days sportsmen have become devoid of character ... Miguel does his own thing."
The world can now rest in peaceful harmony as one of the greatest mustached mysteries in modern history is behind us.
