The good news for students at Carnegie Mellon University is that soon they will know how many robots they have on campus. The bad news is THEY'RE TOTALLY SURROUNDED BY ROBOTS!First-year doctoral student Heather Knight is studying roboticsand decided it would be nice to know just how many robots she's sharing the campus. (Nobody had ever really done a robot census before.)
It would also be nice to know the robot population in case, you know, they ever became sentient and start demanding equal rights through use of force. Presently, after weeks of counting, Heather is up to 547 robots.
Knight hopes her campus tally will blossom into a nationwide count of robots -- an idea we fully support. After all, robots are strong and they eat old people's medicine for fuel. It's important to know what we're up against.
