Everyone knows that guys have a hard time talking about health. But, when it comes to cancer, there's no excuse to keep your mouth shut. As the good folks at Movember have proven since 2003, talking about cancer heightens awareness, saves lives and raises tons of money to fight things like prostate cancer, as well as other ailments that hit men the hardest. The surest way to start that conversation: Drape your face with a sweet, sweet 'stache.
We're here to encourage any and everyone (even the ladies) to join in and help out in this great cause. Keep reading to find out more about Movember and how by participating you can raise some money, get sexy and even win some sweet Movember gear, including the grand prize: a Movember-themed FlipCam.
Just in case you have some trepidation about growing a 'stache, we asked for facial hair feedback from a few people at the recent Movember 2010 launch party in NYC. Turns out the mustache is sexy.
And if you're physically incapable of growing a mustache -- or afraid of societal disapproval -- you can still participate in the Movember movement by donating money to a participant's campaign. Why not start with Asylum's? Will you be participating this year? If you are, let us know in the poll below. If you drop a link to your Movember page in the comments and connect with us on our Movember network page, you might be one of the lucky winners of the Movember-themed FlipCam. We want to give this camera to a Mo' Bro or Mo' Sista, so you can document your hairy experiences throughout the month.
Let the growing -- and fighting -- begin!
| Hellz yeah -- any excuse to grow a lip sweater is going in my calendar. | |
|---|---|
| Can't grow one or won't grow one -- but I'll happily give to the cause. | |
| No, I'm a heartless cad, with or without a 'stache. |
Asylum's 'Movember Flip Cam' giveaway is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, please submit a comment and a link to your Movember fundraising page using a valid email address. The comment must be left before 6:00 pm Eastern Time on November 3, 2010. You may enter once per email address, and one winner will be selected in a random drawing. So if I grow facial hair, it will stop the uncontrolled growth of malignent cells in other men's prostate?
Makes perfect sense.
